Current work
John Durant has lived in Seville, Spain since 1991 where he was a founding member of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra.
More recently, he has conducted the Royal Seville Symphony Chamber Orchestra to sold-out audiences at the Maestranza Theatre in Seville.
As an orchestrator, arranger and conductor, John has worked with soprano Karen Slack of the San Francisco Opera House and Eric Greene of the Philadelphia Opera House.
His orchestrations and conducting of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra and the Malaga Symphony Orchestra received critical acclaim in the press after sell out performances of Siempre Así Sinfónico at the Maestranza Theatre , Seville and the Teatro Real, Madrid where he performed for the Spanish Royal Family.
His arrangements and conducting have triumphed on the stage of the Real Maestranza de Sevilla in the Soto Sinfónico programme, accompanying José Manuel Soto, Bertín Osborne, Manuel Lombo, Mi Hermano y Yo, Laura Gallego and José Luis Pérez Vera.
John combines this work with his passion for composition, being published by Kingfisher Music Ltd, London.
